The Best Luxury Hotels in Paris for 2026
Paris has no shortage of extraordinary five-star hotels. The useful question is not which ones are luxurious — it is which hotel is right for your version of Paris. We compared nine of the city’s leading luxury hotels on location, rooms, views, dining, spa, pool, family experience, scale and overall fit.
Our ranking is research-based and built from current primary sources. We do not claim first-hand overnight stays where we have not stayed, and we do not use fabricated numerical scores. Paris Finest Hotels may earn a commission from selected booking links; commercial relationships do not determine the order.
What is the best luxury hotel in Paris?
Cheval Blanc Paris is our best overall luxury hotel in Paris for 2026 because its 72-key scale combines unusual intimacy with serious infrastructure: a 30-meter pool, Dior Spa, a dedicated kids club, direct Seine-and-Louvre geography and six Michelin stars across three restaurants.
Four Seasons Hotel George V is our choice for the best full-scale grand hotel, especially for Golden Triangle stays, extensive family service and dining depth. Ritz Paris remains the best classic icon when Place Vendôme, history and hotel mythology matter more than winning every amenity comparison.
The ranking below is therefore not a list from “luxurious” to “less luxurious.” Each hotel earns its place for a different traveler.

We rank fit, not marble
Location & sense of place
Does the address materially improve the stay, and does the hotel feel connected to the Paris experience the traveler is actually seeking?
Rooms & views
We look at meaningful category differences, suite versatility and whether advertised Eiffel or landmark views are attached to specific bookable categories.
Facilities & dining
Pool, spa, family infrastructure and current Michelin status matter because they can change how much of a multi-night stay happens inside the hotel.
Distinctiveness
A hotel should offer something a competitor cannot easily replicate: Place Vendôme history, a 30-meter pool, a private mansion scale or a true Eiffel balcony.
Different traveler types
The ranking considers couples, families, first-time visitors, food travelers, shoppers and travelers prioritizing privacy or views.
No pay-to-rank
Affiliate availability does not determine placement. Some hotels may be easier to monetize than others; the editorial ranking remains independent.
Cheval Blanc Paris
Why it ranks first: Cheval Blanc manages to combine boutique-like scale with facilities that normally belong to a much larger grand hotel. Its 72 rooms and suites sit directly by the Seine and Louvre, while Dior Spa has a 30-meter indoor pool and the hotel’s 2026 dining lineup totals six Michelin stars across Plénitude, Hakuba and Le Tout-Paris.
It is also one of the strongest luxury choices for families thanks to Le Carrousel, while selected categories such as the Eiffel Suite provide major Paris views. The overall proposition is unusually complete without feeling enormous.
Choose it if…
You want contemporary design, central sightseeing, serious wellness, Michelin dining and a smaller hotel.
Skip it if…
You want the deep historical mythology of the Ritz or the full social theatre of a large Golden Triangle grand hotel.

Four Seasons Hotel George V
Why it ranks second: George V is the strongest option here for travelers who want the full machinery of a world-class grand hotel. All 243 rooms and suites completed a major renovation by 2025, the Golden Triangle address is ideal for Avenue Montaigne, and its three restaurants hold six Michelin stars in 2026.
Its 17-meter indoor pool is smaller than Cheval Blanc’s but comes with a separate 34°C vitality pool and extensive spa facilities. Family service is particularly deep, from babysitting and tailored itineraries to children’s amenities and large connecting suite configurations.

Ritz Paris
Why it ranks third: because no amount of new-hotel infrastructure can manufacture what the Ritz has: Place Vendôme, an 1898 origin story, César Ritz, Escoffier, Chanel, Hemingway and a century-plus of hotel mythology.
The 142-room hotel still has serious amenities, including a 16-meter pool and the one-Michelin-starred Espadon, but the real reason to book is the identity itself. Ritz Paris does not appear on Atout France’s official 2026 Palace list; we do not treat that as a quality demotion.

Le Bristol Paris
Why it ranks fourth: Le Bristol is one of the easiest classic Palaces to imagine living in for several days. Its 188 renovated rooms and suites are supported by a large hidden courtyard garden, rooftop indoor pool, strong family programming and three-Michelin-starred Épicure.
The combination works particularly well for families who want traditional Paris luxury without giving up practical amenities. The hotel’s residential warmth is the differentiator rather than a single monumental view.
La Réserve Paris
Why it ranks fifth: La Réserve compresses extraordinary infrastructure into only 40 accommodations — 15 rooms and 25 suites. Every room and suite has dedicated butler service, Spa Nescens has a 16-meter indoor pool and Le Gabriel holds three Michelin stars in 2026.
This is the choice for travelers who want Palace standards without feeling that they are staying in a large hotel. Jacques Garcia’s rich interiors are highly specific, so minimalists may prefer Cheval Blanc.
Hôtel Plaza Athénée
Why it ranks sixth: Plaza Athénée is one of the most coherent hotel fantasies in Paris. Avenue Montaigne, couture history, Dior Spa, red-geranium balconies and multiple Eiffel-facing room and suite categories all point in the same direction.
It ranks below the first five on all-round facilities because the current official spa pages do not list a swimming pool and the hotel has less Michelin-star depth than Cheval Blanc or George V. For a romantic fashion-focused trip, those disadvantages may not matter at all.

Hôtel de Crillon
Why it ranks seventh: Hôtel de Crillon combines one of the deepest architectural histories in the group with a genuinely contemporary design story. The Place de la Concorde building dates to the 18th century, while the top suite inventory includes Karl Lagerfeld-designed Grands Appartements.
The 124-key Rosewood hotel also has an indoor pool and strong family configurations. Its current dining story is less Michelin-driven than several hotels above it, which is why we rank it primarily for architecture, suites and sense of place.
Le Meurice
Why it ranks eighth: Le Meurice has one of the most visually compelling locations in Paris, facing the Tuileries from rue de Rivoli. Its art identity, Dalí legacy, two-Michelin-starred Alain Ducasse restaurant and Cédric Grolet pastry program create a personality unlike the other classic Palaces.
The room to know is the extraordinary Belle Étoile Penthouse: 620 m² including a 300 m² terrace with a 360-degree Paris panorama. The main trade-off is wellness: current official spa pages list Valmont treatments, hammams, sauna and fitness but no swimming pool.
Shangri-La Paris
Why it makes the list: if waking up to the Eiffel Tower is the emotional center of the trip, Shangri-La can leap much higher than ninth for your specific needs. Its 100-room inventory includes numerous explicitly Eiffel-facing categories and private terraces, while Chi, The Spa adds a 17-meter indoor pool.
The location in the 16th arrondissement is less central for Louvre/Tuileries sightseeing, and Shang Palace no longer carries a Michelin star in the current 2026 Guide. But as an Eiffel-view specialist, Shangri-La remains one of Paris’s clearest luxury propositions.

Read the La Réserve reviewAre all of these officially Palace hotels?
No. France’s Palace distinction is a formal designation for a select group of exceptional five-star hotels. In Atout France’s official 2026 Paris list, eight of the nine hotels ranked here appear: Cheval Blanc Paris, Four Seasons Hotel George V, Hôtel de Crillon, Hôtel Plaza Athénée, La Réserve Paris, Le Bristol Paris, Le Meurice and Shangri-La Paris.
Ritz Paris does not appear on the current official Palace list. We still rank it third because our list is about choosing the best luxury hotel for the traveler, not reproducing an administrative classification.
Which luxury hotel should you book in Paris?
If you want one answer, Cheval Blanc Paris is our best overall pick for 2026. If you want the classic Paris icon, choose Ritz Paris. For the full grand-hotel experience, choose Four Seasons George V. Families should look closely at Le Bristol and Cheval Blanc; privacy-first travelers at La Réserve; fashion and romance travelers at Plaza Athénée; and Eiffel-view travelers at Shangri-La.
